Kathmandu: The United States has deported eight undocumented Nepali nationals, who arrived in Kathmandu this morning on a chartered flight from Portsmouth International Airport, New Hampshire.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, the flight, carrying 14 people, including crew members, landed at 10:15 AM after making a technical stop en route. The aircraft is scheduled to return to the US via Albania at 3:00 PM.

With US President Donald Trump beginning his second term, deportations of undocumented Nepali migrants have intensified.

Upon arrival, the deported individuals were handed over to Nepal Police for further investigation after immigration procedures were completed, confirmed Immigration Officer Yagya Raj Aryal.

Additionally, one more Nepali was deported today on a Qatar Airways regular flight.

This follows a previous deportation of 27 Nepali nationals by the US.
